About 18th & Denison Church of Christ
We aim:
To increase community awareness and spread the Word of Godto help people to grow and learn through mutual support, care to be a good neighbor to people in need, and to challenge injustice to encourage more followers. To speak where the bible speaks and to be silent where the bible is silent. We hold fast unto the doctrine
of the apostles that was given to them by the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in one Lord, one faith, one church, and one baptism as it
is written in the Holy Scriptures. We observe and partake of the Lord's
supper every first day of the week as did the apostles. We believe in
singing without the use of mechanical instruments as instructed by
the new testament scriptures. We also believe that baptism is essential
to salvation and that you are not saved before you are baptized.
We welcome all question about what we believe and we believe that a
bible question deserves a bible answer. Our purpose is to spread the
word of God and to help save as many souls as we can. We believe
that if we add or subtract in anyway from the bible, that we will cease to be the church that God would have us to be.

Facts Concerning Christ's Church
Purchased by Christ's Blood
Acts 20:28;
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hast made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Christ gave himself for it
Eph. 5:23-25:
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love you wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
It is Christ's Bride
2 Cor. 11:2;
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
John 3:29-30;
29 He that hath the bride is the bride-groom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bride-groom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
Christ built his Church
Matthew 16:18;
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Church and Body are same
Col. 1:18, 24;
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
Eph. 1:22-23;
22And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.
23 Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.
There is one Body (Church)
Eph. 4:4-6;
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Christ is Saviour of Body
Eph. 5:23;
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the Church: and he is the Saviour of the body.
Obedient are added to the Church
Acts 2:41, 47;
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day they were added unto them about three thousand souls.
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Only in Christ's name is Salvation
1 Cor. 3:11;
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:12;
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
