Gospel is God's power to save
Romans 1:16;
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Can't escape if we neglect Gospel
Hebrews 2:1-3;
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

2 For if the word spoken byh angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

1. Must have faith
Hebrews 11:6;
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

John 8:24;
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Faith comes by hearing
Romans 10:17;
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2. Must repent of Sins
Luke 13:3;
3 I tell you, Nay: but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

2 Peter 3:9;
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is lonsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Acts 17:30;
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

3. Must confess Christ as Son of God
Matthew 10:32-33;
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Romans 10:9-10;
9 That if Thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

4. Be baptized
A. Commanded
Mark 16:16;
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38;
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

B. Washes away sins
Acts 22:16;
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

C. Saves
1 Peter 3:21;
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

D. Baptism is a burial
Rom. 6:3-4;
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5. Must remain in faithful service until death.
Revelations 2:10;
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye hall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crowm of life.

I Corinthians 15:58;
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
